Incorporate the colors of the Mexican flag into as many decorations as
possible. Just as you would add red, white and blue to a Fourth of
July ...

Oh, we DO celebrate cinco de mayo in Mexico alright, but we do NOT
celebrate it as important a holiday as teh gringos do. In fact, some
of those idiots believe that is our Independence Day...so stupid!

The 5 de mayo holiday commemorates The Battle of Puebla (= city of
about 2.7 million people some 130 kms east of Mexico City), when the
mexican army under the command of General Zaragoza stopped and
actually defeated the french army that invaded Mexico and were trying
to reach our capital city.

After that battle the frenchies did reach Mexico city and imposed
emperor Maximiliano over Mexico for three years or so, when they were
utterly defeated by the liberal forces of legally voted president
Benito Juarez.

Oh, and a propo: all the mexicans celebrating 5 de mayo in California,
Colorado, parts of Utah, down in Nevada, N. Mexico, Arizona, Texas and
even a little slice of Oklahoma, are celebrating the holiday IN
Mexico...:)

Cinco de Mayo is a gringo holiday, not celebrated in Mexico.
---
disinformation sucks

Cinco de Mayo is celebrated in Mexico, primarily in the state of
Puebla, where the holiday is called El Día de la Batalla de Puebla
(English: The Day of the Battle of Puebla). The date is observed in the
United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.
---
again, mexicans should go home to mexico to celebrate ... as this is
America, where Americans celebrate America and scorn those whose
loyalty to another nation
