You have probably never traveled on the US Interstate system and never
noticed those weigh stations where the various states do truck
inspections ...

PS -

At many of the border crossings the Mexicans have either built or are
building their own inspection stations to pre-inspect trucks before
they enter the USA.

You do know, don't you, that something like 98% of Freightliner's
class 8 truck production is coming from Mexico, don't you/
